Our Patients
Many of our patients have gone from being bedridden to being able to walk independently!

First Time Standing!

For many of our patients, standing upright is a first! It's such an exciting milestone, and these moments mark the beginning of the journey toward healing and independence.

Healing Together

Every child's progress is rooted in the love and support of those around them. One of our goals is to ensure families and caregivers are made an essential part of the healing process.

Therapy In Action

Our work goes far beyond providing equipment. We work with caregivers and physical therapists to ensure stander is measured, fitted, and adjusted by hand to meet the unique needs of each child.

Inspirational Stories

These stories remind us why we do this work and inspire us to keep helping more children stand tall!
Darlene, Age 6 - Cerebral Palsy

Our very first patient in Guatemala! Darlene received the very first standing frame ever built in our local shop.

Andes, Age 3 - Cerebral Palsy

Andes now uses his standing frame twice a day, and his therapist notices huge improvements. His mother says, "He is a totally different person than before - he carries himself and seems happier."

Pamela, Age 10 - Cerebral Palsy and Luxating Hip

Pamela had outgrown her stander, so we jumped into action. We re-designed the frame onsite with wood and replaced the unsafe backboard. She now stands securely and comfortably!

Anner, Age 4 - Cerebral Palsy

After just 1 month of therapy, Anner's legs are no longer locked in spasticity, and he's engaging much more with the people around him.  His physical therapist said, "I used to ask him to hand me a picture of a dog and he would stare at me blankly, now he can do it!"

Matthew "Matti", Age 3 - Spina Bifida

Matti received his standing frame in 2015, and it has transformed his daily life. Once reliant on others to reach toys and clothes, he now moves more independently and is growing stronger each day!

Dulce, Age 5 - Cerebral Palsy

Born in Sololá, Dulce spent her first month in the hospital, and her family struggled with the costs of ongoing care. Her father works as a day laborer in agriculture, while her mother manages her therapies. With her new standing frame, which she received in 2017, she can now do therapy at home instead of traveling long distances to rehabilitation centers, saving her family time, money, and energy. Her mother shared, "It is much more comfortable to do it at home...Dulce feels much better and can stand as long as she needs."
