We were thrilled to return to Guatemala in May 2025! Here are some highlights from our trip.

• We visited the main production facility, where we worked with the on-site team to assemble standing frames: drilling, cutting, sanding, and painting each component. Each part went through rigorous quality control to ensure that the resulting frames were safe for both constructors and patients. 
• ​We traveled to local rehabilitation clinics (Fundabiem and Asopadis) to learn how patients with disabilities underwent therapies and found communities. It was eye-opening to see how patients were empowered, whether it was encouraging them to take steps during physical therapy, creating a space for them to make and sell artwork, or even encouraging patients' mothers to form tight-knit communities where they can cook together. 
• We conducted follow-up visits at patients' homes, where we got to meet their families, who are crucial to ensuring at-home therapies are effective. We worked with local physical therapists to assess each child's progress with mobility and muscle control. Finally, we spoke with family members to understand the barriers they are still facing and how we can help.
• The most rewarding aspect of the trip was seeing the kids smile, stand up straight, and even walk again! We are very excited to go back next year and continue this work!
